This is about Hertz Insurance Program.
Coverage will only be provided if terms and conditions on the Rental Agreement are followed.
Insurance may be available for purchase at the rental counter.
Insurance coverage may vary depending on pickup countries or locations.

USA
 
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
An optional service which, if accepted, relieves your financial liability for loss or damage to the Hertz vehicle, its parts and accessories, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement.
 
Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS)
An optional service which, if accepted, will increase the limits of third party liability protection included in your rental. LIS safeguards the renter’s personal policy from being utilized for the first USD 1 million of combined bodily injury (maximum USD 50,000, vary state to state) and/or property damage claims (maximum USD 25,000, vary state to state) for each occurrence.
You can purchase LIS with extra fee of USD 13.95 ~ 16.00 per day (The fee may change without prior notice) at the time of pick up. We recommend you to choose the package rates that include 2 nd rate plan (include LDW, LIS) or 3rd rate plan (include LDW, PAI/PEC and LIS) at the time of reservation.
 
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)/ Personal Effects Coverage (PEC)
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
An optional coverage for accidental death and accidental medical expense coverage up to the benefit limits for yourself and your passengers during the rental period of the vehicle. You are covered for the duration of the rental in or out of the vehicle. Your passengers are also covered, but only for incidents occurring while they occupy the Hertz rental car.
 
Personal Effects Coverage (PEC)
An optional coverage that insures against risk of loss or damage up to the benefit limits to help protect your personal belongings while renting from Hertz. Coverage includes those personal effects owned by you and those members of your immediate family traveling with you during the rental period who are permanent residents of your household.
   
Canada
 
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
An optional service which, if accepted, relieves your financial liability for loss or damage to the Hertz vehicle, its parts and accessories, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement.
Regardless of whether LDW is accepted or included, all rentals are subject to a non-waivable excess for which you are responsible in case of damage to, or loss of the Hertz vehicle during the rental.
 
Third Party Liability Protection
Hertzs liability protection is included in the rates. Maximum benefits limits apply.
 
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)/ Personal Effects Coverage (PEC)
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
An optional coverage for any accident involving death or bodily injury during the car rental covering you and your passengers up to the benefit limits. You are covered for the duration of the rental in or out of the vehicle. Passengers are only covered while entering, occupying or leaving the Hertz car.
Personal Effects Coverage (PEC)
An option that insures against risk of loss or damage up to the benefit limits to help protect your personal belongings while renting from Hertz. Coverage includes those personal effects owned by you and those members of your immediate family traveling with you during the rental period who are permanent residents of your household.
 
Europe
 
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
An optional service which, if accepted, reduces your financial liability for loss or damage to the Hertz vehicle, its parts and accessories (except for theft, attempted theft or vandalism), provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement.
Regardless of whether CDW being accepted or included, all rentals are subject to a non-waivable excess for which you are responsible in case of damage to, or loss of the Hertz vehicle during the rental.
 
Theft Protection (TP)
An optional service which, if accepted, reduces your financial liability for loss of, or damage to the Hertz vehicle due to theft, attempted theft, or vandalism, including its parts and accessories, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement.
Regardless of TP being accepted or included, all rentals are subject to a non-waivable excess for which you are responsible in case of damage to, or loss of the Hertz vehicle during the rental.
 
Super Cover (SUP)
Additional protection to waive your remaining liability for damage/theft to/of the Hertz vehicle, including those losses resulting from collision, vandalism, theft or attempted theft, provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement.
SUP does not cover broken/lost keys, contamination of fuel and the Hertz NeverLost navigation system.
 
Personal Insurance (PI)
Protection for yourself, your passengers and your personal effects. Maximum benefits limits apply.
 
Australia
 
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
An optional service which, if accepted, reduces your financial liability for accident damage to Hertz vehicles and third party property provided the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement.
Regardless of whether CDW being accepted or included, all rentals are subject to an Accident Damages Excess (ADE) for which you are responsible in case of damage to, or loss of the Hertz vehicle during the rental.
 
New Zealand
 
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Rates include LDW which provides cover for theft and/or damage to the Hertz vehicle and/or Third Party Property, as long as you comply with the rental terms and conditions.
All rentals are subject to an Accident Damage Excess (ADE) for which you are responsible in case of damage to, or loss of the Hertz vehicle during the rental.
 
Accident Excess Reduction (AER)
An optional service which, if accepted, reduces the Accident Damage Excess (ADE) to zero.
 
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Provides the authorized driver and/or passenger/s, compensation for accidental death or bodily injury caused by an accident in connection with the rental vehicles. Maximum benefits limits apply.
 
Personal Effects Coverage (PEC)
Provides benefits to the authorized driver and traveling companions for loss or damage to baggage and personal belongings. Maximum benefits limits apply.
 
Protection Package (PKG)
Package product which includes AER (reduce damage access to zero) + PAI + PEC. Maximum benefits limits apply.
